The founder and creator of mdp.art, Mya Drost-Parra was born and raised in the beautiful city of Boulder, Colorado. Surrounded by creatives and adventurers her journey with art and expression has always been supported in her home and community. 

During college, her second home became New Orleans, a city brimming with authentic expression, art, and music all influenced by its deep history.  There she studied Psychology with focus in Spanish and Gender Studies while swimming D1 for Tualne. Ennamored by the freedom linked with carinval their art expanded to showcase the energy and interconnectedness of the city. 

After college, Mya broadened her horizons by journeying on a two month solo trip through Europe where she developed an eye for photography and celebrated pride in three countries! 

Back home in Boulder, Mya will be expanding her skills by taking art and design classes at FRCC. They look forward to sharing their buisness and creative spirit with the community !

Mya is a multi-media artist who specializes in abstract art, watercolor, printmaking, pottery, photography, and wire and polymer clay jewelry.

As an artist she is influenced by the symbiosis of nature, conversations between colors and capturing lived experiences in her own lens. 

Mya conntects with their queer identity by being in tune with their body and resistance through collective effervescence. She has a deep love for the ocean, swimming, her three dogs and desires to learn more about ecofemminism and indigenous medicinal plant teachings.
